WHo We Are

Assenti, LLC, a Micro/Nanotechnology company has the ability to provide fabrication and design services for numerous MEMS, microelectronic, electro-optic and nanotechnology applications. Services begin at the device design level and continue through single-step processing, complete device prototyping and limited-scale production.

History

Assenti was founded in 2002 by Hank Kaplan, John Naber, Rob Keynton, Kevin Walsh and Paul Van der Pol. In 2003, Assenti became a Limited Liability company and received its first two government sponsored grants in the same year. Assenti has received over $1.8M in grants to date, including funding from agencies such as the Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation (KSTC) and the National Institute of Health (NIH) to develop an implantable device to assist ophthalmologists in monitoring Intraocular Pressure (IOP). Assenti currently employs ten people, including seven engineers, two business professionals and one ophthalmologist.

The center is housed within two campus cleanrooms, including a 9,000-sq.-ft., seven-bay, Class 100/1000 facility designed by nationally renowned AGI consultants.
Our wide variety of micro/nanoprocessing tools and 10-plus years of operating experience make our state-of-the-art facilities popular not only with researchers at UofL and other universities throughout the Ohio Valley region, but with industry and government laboratories nationwide, too.
